SUMMER BOOK CLUBS
Book Clubs are back at Christ Church Halifax!
Here's how we'll do it: sign up (below) for a book club by June 21. We'll order the books (we'll let you know the cost and you pay what you can), and will make sure you get a copy. Your Book Club leader will get in touch with you to plan an every-other-week-or-so meetup. You'll pre-read a few chapters, meet together, discuss, pray, and high-five -- it's going to be great!
THE LINE-UP
-
Strangely Bright (Joe Rigney)
God's gifts are invitations to know and enjoy him more deeply, and as this truth is impressed upon our hearts, we will discover that the things of earth grow strangely bright in the light of his glory and grace.
-
The Screwtape Letters (C.S. Lewis)
At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation—and triumph over it—ever written.
-
Gentle and Lowly (Dane Ortlund)
This book takes us into the depths of Christ’s very heart for sinners, diving deep into Bible passages that speak of who Christ is and encouraging readers with the affections of Christ for his people. His longing heart for sinners comforts and sustains readers in their up-and-down lives.
-
Crazy Busy (Kevin DeYoung)
Just one look at our jam-packed schedules tells us how hard it can be to strike a well-reasoned balance between doing nothing and doing it all. Highly practical and super short, Crazy Busy will help you put an end to “busyness as usual.”
